What Microphones work with Helium?

The article will list the supported microphones and recording devices that are compatible with Helium!

The following dictation devices are supported by Helium:
  • Nuance's Power Mic 4
  • Philips SpeechMike Pro Premium 3700
  • Philips SpeechMike Premium Air 4000
  • Olympus RecMic RM-4010P

The following microphone has been added as officially supported:

Helium v2025.1
Released on 08-29-2025

  • OM SYSTEM RecMic RM-4010N

 

Other dictation devices can be used for recording, but not for key configuration and control.


Warning!
When using a Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic 4 on MacOS, interruptions can occasionally occur when recording audio.
This affects all applications on MacOS that use the microphone.
The problem has been fixed by the microphone manufacturers with a new firmware.

The firmware listed below must be installed as a minimum when using Helium.
